Have you ever been sitting below the crag after a great climb and wished there was a better way to capture the moment than reaching for your phone?
In this two-class creative series, participants will explore handmade journaling and illustrative storytelling as a way to record climbing experiences and outdoor adventures.
The first class focuses on journal making, where you’ll learn approachable bookbinding techniques and create a handmade journal using upcycled materials.
The second class focuses on illustrative journaling, exploring simple techniques for capturing experiences through sketches, notes, and visual storytelling—no drawing experience required.
Together, the classes offer a creative way to slow down, reflect on climbing experiences, and build confidence in artistic expression. Both artists and “non-creatives” are welcome.
All supplies are provided, and participants can take either class individually or both as a series.
