Basics of Belaying Field Trip

Overview
This 3-hour field trip upgrades the standard climbing experience with Basics of Belaying. Participants go beyond basic climbing to learn knot tying, belay technique, and partner climbing in a team-based format. Guided by trained Adventure Rock instructors, this session blends technical skill-building with engaging climbing challenges.

What’s Included

• 3-hour session led by Adventure Rock staff

• Instruction in knot tying, belay technique, and partner climbing

• Team-based climbing challenges with instructor oversight

• Harnesses, ropes, and belay equipment provided

• Climbing shoes are not included.

Group Size & Pricing

• $18 per participant

• 15 participant minimum

Participant Requirements

• Ages: Middle school through high school

• Waiver signed by parent/guardian

• Comfortable athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes

Availability

• Monday–Friday mornings during the school year (September–May)

• Sessions every 30 minutes (BKF and MKE)
